An Interactive Kit for Spatial Flexibility and Social Strategy
Designed with: Fatima Castro & Maya Rubio
Submission for ACM Conference on Creativity and Cognition
Adaptive Framework holds the many fragments in the urban scene collective introducing kinetic and open-ended design components to activate spatial flexibility in alignment to communal needs.
This innovation utilizes fundamental movements to expand the kit’s versatility allowing minimalist design to generate thorough spatial possibilities.

Once assembled, the structure may function as a simple point of congregation for resting areas to signage for active passageways for cyclists, ultimately populating a space to promote public safety in neglected areas.

Additionally, the panels create a blank canvas for artists to share their story through art installations and exhibit local services.
“Simplicity offers a diversity of options.”
— I’m pretty sure my professor said this, and I agree.
Through fundamental movements and simplistic design, the modular offers versatile selection to placement and position, thus usage.
We then took different ratios of modular arrangements and plotted arbitrary sequences which then generated which areas would act as hinges to connect the extended floor plan.
